Chapman, Michael E., PhD, Boston College
Dr. Chapman joins Peking University¡¯s history department as a visiting assistant professor for 2009¨C10; he has published several articles, and his manuscript ¡°Arguing Americanism: Franco Lobbyists, Roosevelt¡¯s Foreign Policy, and the Spanish Civil War¡± is under contract to Kent State University Press. In addition to U.S. foreign relations, he is particularly interested in national identity, political philosophy, urban culture, and global trade.

Dr. Peng is a professor at Peking University¡¯s Department of Philosophy. He has widely published on aesthetics.

Sun, Xiaochun, Ph. D., University of Pennsylvania
Dr. Sun is a research professor in Chinese Academy of Science and an expert on Chinese history and philosophy of science. Among other publications, his main book deals with astronomy during the Han Dynasty.

Sun, Youli, Ph. D., University of Chicago
Dr. Sun has taught at many universities in the US since 1988 and tenured at University of Southern Mississippi in 1995. He has been director of the Beijing program for American University since 1998. His expertise is on prewar international relations in East Asia.
